Biomarkers play a major role in Drug Discovery and Development, and increasingly in general biomedical research. One aspect that is often overlooked in biomarker related discussions and planning is the changing nature of biomarkers used in the various stages of research, discovery, and development due to the changing requirements and restraints.
In particular in biotech and pharmaceutical companies, the right application of biomarkers has a major impact on the individual projects, and on overall business performance.
Dr. Ehrhardt’s presentation will focus on a few key considerations in the planning and execution of biomarker work when moving biomarkers from discovery into development, with a special emphasis on the requirements for clinical trials of increasing scale and complexity. With relevant examples, this presentation will illustrate the high impact which the right considerations in the right place will have on the success of biomarkers as business drivers.
