Dr. Jelle Penders is the CEO/CTO and co-founder of SPARTA Biodiscovery Ltd. a new spin-out from the Stevens Group from Prof. Molly Stevens FRS FREng at Imperial College London. He is co-inventor of the SPARTA® technology (Single Particle Automated Raman Trapping Analysis) which is a novel analytical modality designed for nanoparticle and nanoformulation analysis with widespread applications from pharmaceuticals to cancer diagnostics. His research focuses on the development and application of advanced characterisation methods for nanomaterials and nanoformulations with core expertise in Raman spectroscopy, Electron Microscopy and Exosomes. He holds a PhD from Imperial College London at the interface of Materials and Bioengineering, a MSc from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden in Materials Chemistry and Nanotechnology and a BSc in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands.
