Dr Tai is a clinician scientist and a senior consultant in the division of endocrinology at the National University Hospital. He has publications in many areas ranging from traditional epidemiology to large scale genetic association studies. As part of this work, he has
spent several years attempting to understand the basis of ethnic differences in the prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Singapore population.
