POLARIS – A translational bridge for disease biomarkers and diagnostic technologies

POLARIS is a strategic initiative for introducing and embedding OMIC information into disease diagnosis and treatment in Singapore. Polaris is designed to bridge the gap between the laboratory, clinic and industry by utilizing cutting edge genomics in patient care to match the right patient to the right drug. It provides a platform for integrating locally discovered genomic biomarkers with patient care, translating these discoveries into clinical grade OMIC assays for patient diagnosis and treatment stratification, and enabling collaboration with industry on novel drug design and clinical trials. Through a more targeted approach based on genetic and molecular profiling, this form of personalized medicine can lead to better patient outcomes through improved clinical response rates and reduced treatment toxicities.
