Sara Abdollahi is a researcher at the Division of Cardiac Surgery of Johns Hopkins University. Her research focuses on heart patches for the repair of myocardial infarction, and her main goals is to optimize these patches to match the contractility of the native heart. Dr. Abdollahi obtained her Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University in Biomedical Engineering and received her training as an undergraduate in chemical engineering and master’s degree in materials engineering at McGill University. Her expertise and interests are in biomimetic designs, additive manufacturing, soft matter rheology, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
