Dimitri Aubert's Biography

Dimitri Aubert, Managing Director, NanoFCM Co., Ltd

Dimitri Aubert (PhD) is Managing Director at NanoFCM Co., Ltd.

He obtained his first degree and MSc in Chemistry from the University of Caen, France, and in 2014 he graduated with a PhD degree in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham, UK, with a project titled synthesis of an epimer of biotin and to the study of its binding affinity for avidin and streptavidin. He started his career in scientific business development at LC Services and Micropump UK, part of IDEX corporation. He subsequently became European Sales Manager at innovative Raman spectroscopy companies (Ahura Scientific, now part of Thermo Fisher and at Cobalt Light Systems, now part of Agilent). Joining Izon Science Ltd in July 2011 as a Director EMEA, and subsequently as Global Director for Sales and Marketing, he developed resistive pulse sensing as a technology for nanoparticle measurement and SEC as a method for extracellular vesicle isolation. Starting at NanoFCM in 2018, he is overseeing the international development of Nano-Analyzer platform, the next-generation technology for extracellular vesicles analysis.

Though of great importance, sizing and molecular profiling of individual extracellular vesicles (EVs) are technically challenging due to their nanoscale particle size, minute quantity of analytes, and overall heterogeneity. NanoFCM has developed Nano-Flow Cytometry (nFCM), a technology that allows light scattering and fluorescence detection of single EVs down to 40 nm. nFCM-based approach for quantitative multiparameter analysis of EVs, which is highly desirable to decipher their biological functions and promote the development of EV-based liquid biopsy and therapeutics.
