The list of indications is expanding as more studies are published to demonstrate safety and efficacy. Regenerative medicine is the process of replacing or regenerating human cells, tissues or organs to restore or establish normal function. The concept is that damaged tissue can be restored by using the body’s own healing mechanism to promote repair. This new branch of medicine may change the course of chronic diseases and standard clinical therapies. However, with any new therapies, this must be approached cautiously and with scientific data to support the treatment. This session will discuss the use of stem cell therapies in veterinary applications and the challenges of bringing these products to market. |
