Maricela Maldonado's Biography



Maricela Maldonado, Bioengineering, University of California-Riverside

Maricela Maldonado obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from UCLA, and began her PhD in the Department of Bioengineering at UCR in 2012. She is currently working in the Tissue Regenerative Engineering and mechanoTransduction lab under the guidance of Dr. Jin Nam. Her research focuses on directing the differentiation of pluripotent stem cells towards specific lineages via modulating the cell’s mechanical environments using electrospun nanofibrous scaffolds. She is a recipient of the prestigious NSF graduate research fellowship.
