Justin Bower's Biography

Justin Bower, Head, The Beatson Institute for Cancer Research

Justin Bower is Head of Chemistry & Structural Biology at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research. He began his career in drug discovery at Ribotargets, now Vernalis where he developed a keen interest in fragment-based hit identification approaches and structure-based drug design. He then moved to AstraZeneca, working on a number of projects in the inflammation and oncology areas, before moving to his current position in 2010. He received a PhD from Loughborough University under the guidance of Professor Jonathan Williams and postdoctoral training at the University of Waterloo, Canada with Professor Victor Snieckus.
