Prof Kondaiah obtained PhD from Osmania University, Hyderabad and post doctoral training at the NCI, Bethesda, USA. After joining IISc, Prof. Kondaiah’s group extensively contributed in the field of hormones and tumor biology. Studies were focused on the signaling of hormones and growth factors to understand the tumor biology and in addition to many approaches, in vitro and animal xenograft models have been utilized. His laboratory contributed extensively to the understanding of the TGF-ß’s role in wound healing and tumor biology. His group along with others at IISc is the first to establish cancer micro arrays and together contributed significantly to the field of brain and breast cancers. His group along with chemistry groups at IISc developed potential synthetic chemo therapeutic agents. He contributed to more than 100 publications.
