Dr, Frank Schael studied Chemistry at technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, where he recieved his doctoral degree in 1995 with laser studies of kinetics of photoinduced electron transfer reactions. From 1996 to 1998 he performed laser spectroscopic gas phase studies at the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral research fellow and scholar of the Max-Planck Society. From 1998 to 2002 he headed a research group for fiber optic sensors and diode laser spectroscopy at the University of Erlangen which moved to University of Potsdam in 2000. In 2002 he joined Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik where he currently is head of Process R&D and coordinates public and commercial R&D projects.
