Chao Liu's Biography

Chao Liu, Head and Director FEEP Lab, Process Enabling Technology Platform, WuXi STA

Dr. Chao Liu has been heading FEEP lab, WuXi STA since 2022, which is an integrated group driving flow, biocatalysis, electro and photochemistry applications, from process research to nonGMP/ GMP production for projects at different stages, aiming to improving the greenness, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of API manufacturing via synergizing the deep understanding of organic chemistry and continuous flow equipment. He finished a dual-PhD-program from Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Peking University (Prof. Yuliang Li and Liangbin Gan), Beijing, China and obtained Ph.D. in organic chemistry from PKU in 2012. Afterwards he worked as postdoc in the University of Tokyo with Prof. Eiichi Nakamura, transferred to Towa Pharmaceutical, and then HighChem Ltd in Japan. Particularly he studied flow chemistry as cooperating researcher in Flow Chemistry Team, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Tsukuba, Japan, with Prof. Shun-ya Onozawa, Yoshihiro Kon and Shu Kobayashi.
