Javier Mazuela's Biography

Javier Mazuela, Chemical Technologies Scientist, Janssen Research & Development

Javier Mazuela studied in Universidad Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona (Spain) where he got his bachelor degree in 2008 and Ph.D in 2012. Next, he moved to Sweden to join Prof. J.-E. Bäckvall´s group in the Stockholm University as PostDoc. In 2015, Javier joined AstraZeneca and in 2022 moved back to Spain to join Janssen-Cilag at the research center in Toledo as Chemical Technologies Scientist. His research focuses on the implementation of novel technologies for drug discovery.

The development of flow platforms for automated synthesis of libraries would enable an efficient synthesis of lead molecules by rapidly exploring a wide chemical space for drug discovery. Here we describe the technologies implemented by Janssen in this field.
