Poonam Aggarwal Sachdev, Senior Vegetable Technologist, Punjab Agricultural University

Dr. Poonam A. Sachdev, Sr. Vegetable Technologist have my extensive contribution in basic and applied research in Fruits and Vegetable Technology. She worked on the development of various technologies like effect of hydrocolloids on the quality of juice and beverages from Various fruits and Vegetables.
She also developed various technologies for ready to use onion products and shelf stable mixed vegetable juices and mint: coriander chutney. Also developed indigenous potato products by using medium and high sugar potato varieties i.e. papad, warian, bhujia and chakali.
REC approval for the grape variety Punjab purple on the basis of its processing suitability into Ready-to-serve beverage, nectar and RTS. Also associated in other REC recommendations i.e. “production of non-alcoholic naturally carbonated beverages from plums and carrot-amla” and organic farming for high value crops, canning of Shan-i-Punjab peach variety and TH-2312, TH-1tomato varieties.
Dr Poonam has 79 research publications in reputed national and international journals, 86 conference abstracts and poster papers, 14 technical review papers, 4 book chapters, 55 popular articles, 2 manuals, 1 bulletin and 4 brochures.
Dr Poonam have already completed Research projects two as PI and two CO-PI and four projects, two as PI (UGC and CSIR) and two as COPI (UGC and DST) are ongoing. Submitted 4 new projects. She also has an excellent contribution in Industrial projects and TV Talk.
