Vinti Davar's Biography



Vinti Davar, Professor, Kurukshetra University

Prof. Vinti Davar has been a meritorious student since primary to her college and university degrees winning laurels at each stage. She has been teaching post graduate and graduate courses for the last 37 years. Continuous effort by her to explore the tremendous potential of indigenous products to evolve low cost nutritious recipes to combat malnutrition has been well acknowledged. Her other areas of interest include food service management, nutrition education, geriatric and sports nutrition. She has travelled widely to Australia, United Kingdom, Russia, Middle- east, and African countries and participated in more than 70 national and international seminars. She has authored 5 books and many papers in national and international journals of repute. Her life membership to professional bodies IFPRI, American Society of Nutrition, Nutrition Society of India, International Union of Nutritional Sciences, Indian Dietetic Association and Indian Science Congress Association speak volumes towards her aptitude.
She is a recipient of University medal, best paper award and best teacher award. Delivering lectures and bringing awareness through programmes on Holistic Health is her passion.
