Martin Brandl, is trained as a pharmacist, has earned a doctoral and a habil-degree in pharmaceutics. He currently holds a (full) professor position at Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Southern Denmark (since 2009) and acts as program chair for the pharmacy undergraduate program at SDU besides serving as editor-in-chief for European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Elsevier). Stations of his professional career include University of Tromsø, Norway, (professor, 10 years), Albert-Ludwigs-University, Freiburg, Germany, (lecturer, 6 years) and School of Pharmacy, University of London (PostDoc, 2 years) and a medium-sized pharmaceutical company (5 years). His current research interests are centered around drug delivery via liposomes (triggered release), oral delivery of poorly soluble drugs and in vitro drug permeability studies. He has supervised more than 50 research students, and co-authored more than 200 papers, thereof 80 original research articles in peer-reviewed journals, 12 patents and 12 reviews and book chapters.
