Dr. Subir Kumar Basak serves as the President of Jubilant Drug Discovery Services of Jubilant Life Sciences Limited. He heads Jubilant Biosys Ltd., Bangalore, Jubilant Chemsys Ltd., Noida and Jubilant Discovery Services Inc., Malvern, USA. Jubilant is a global leader in providing Drug Discovery Services to biotechnology & pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Basak has over 20 years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical & healthcare involving Business Development, R&D and market innovation as well as strategic partnerships. He joined Jubilant from INTAS Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Ahmadabad, India, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer of Intas Biopharmaceuticals and Chief Executive Officer of Celestial Biologicals. He served as Global Oncology Head and Senior Director of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd., where he orchestrated leadership and direction to Oncology & Specialty based businesses.. Dr. Basak served as General Manager, Business Development & Oncotherapeutics at Biocon Limited. Prior to this he served as Global Operation Leader at Amgen, where he was instrumental in leading the development of strategy and commercialization of five key therapeutic candidates from pre-clinical to commercial stage.
Dr. Basak brings a strong leadership track record in the biotech & pharma industry. He has been profiled in a Harvard Business Review case study related to Innovation, Biotechnology, and Emerging markets.
Dr. Basak completed his BE in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Roorkee, India. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, USA & Advanced Management Development from the Wharton School of Business, USA. He has a Ph.D in Biochemical Engineering from Purdue University, USA.
