Ruige Wu's Biography


Ruige Wu, Research Scientist, Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology

Dr Wu Ruige is a scientist of SIMTech Microfluidics Manufacturing Programme.
She obtained her PhD degree on Microfluidics applications in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Hong Kong.
She got her Master degree from Peking University and Bachelor degree from Nankai University, China. She also worked in CapitalBio, Beijing, as a research scientist on microarray technology from 2001 to 2006.

A microfluidics based device has been developed for point-of-case diagnosis of infectious diseases, which integrates the whole process of molecular diagnosis into one handheld cassette, including reagent storage, sample metering, cell lysis, DNA extraction, PCR, etc. "sample-in, result-out" assay can be realized using the developed cassette in 15 minutes.
