Monica Brivio's Biography



Monica Brivio, Strategic R&D Manager, Micronit Microfluidics

Dr. Brivio is currently leading the Strategic R&D department at Micronit, which aims at extending Micronit’s capabilities through the development of new technologies and functionalities. Dr. Brivio joined Micronit Microfluidics in 2012 where she first worked as a Project manager and carried out both project management and new business development activities within the (point-of-care) diagnostic sector. As a former Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Denmark and a former leading researcher at both Uppsala University (Uppsala, Sweden) and the Science for Life Laboratory (Stockholm,
?
Sweden), Dr. Brivio has gained more than fifteen years of experience in the field of lab-on-a-chip technologies and microfluidics for application in chemistry and life science with focus on cross- disciplinary research in the areas of microfluidics, molecular diagnostics and immunochemistry. Dr. Brivio has experience in managing collaborative projects both at an international and at a national level with various sized consortia. Over the years she has established a considerably large network of contacts both within Academia and Industry and she has built a strong background in applying microfluidics-based technologies to life science.

After a brief company overview, this presentation focuses on recent advances in platform technologies developed at Micronit for applications within (point-of-care) diagnostics and cell culturing. A few examples of demonstrators developed within research projects are presented to illustrate the applicability of the developed technologies.
