Frederic Bottausci,
Senior Engineer,
Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (CEA)
Frédéric Bottausci PhD is a Research Engineer at the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (CEA) in Grenoble (France). He earned his master degree in fluid mechanics and transfers from the University of Orsay (Paris) and his Ph.D. in fluid mechanics from l’Ecole Superieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de Paris. Dr Bottausci did a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the Mechanical Engineering department with Pr. I. Mezic and Pr. C. Meinhart where he worked on microfluidics (design and fabrication of devices, micromixing, dielectrophoresis). He cofounded the startup called Integrated fluidics inc. on microfluidics. In 2008 he joined the CEA and worked on ElectroWetting On Dielectric (EWOD), on packaging and on implantable electrodes. His is currently working on cells encapsulations for biomedical applications and tissue engineering. Dr Bottausci has several patents and published on fluids dynamics, micro-fluidic particle manipulation, EWOD and cell encapsulations.
