Jan Vertommen, Senior Director, Capsugel

Dr. Jan Vertommen is actually Senior Director, Product Development and Manufacturing at Capsugel. His role is focused on leading teams based at Capsugel's facilities in France, which are responsible for product development and manufacturing of dosage forms for the healthcare industry. The dosage forms developed and manufactured by the teams are based on well established technologies such as lipid based formulation encapsulation in softgel and hard capsules as well as new technologies acquired and developed by Capsugel.Dr. Jan Vertommen received his degree of pharmacist and did his PhD thesis on pelletization techniques at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. Before joining Capsugel in 2003 he held production and general management positions in pharmaceutical companies based in Europe.Dr. Jan Vertommen authored a book entitled, “Pelletization in a rotary processor using the wet granulation technique”, made several publications in scientific journals, and gave numerous presentations at scientific symposia on pelletization technologies and lipid based formulation development.
