Devendra Ridhurkar, Senior Scientist, Egis Pharmaceuticals

Dr. Devendra Ridhurkar works as a Sr. Scientist (Special Formulations) at Egis Pharmaceu¬ticals Plc., Budapest, Hungary with a focus towards development of platform technology and other emerging technologies for the innovative and complex generic formulations. Before joining Egis he has associated with platform technology group at Dr. Reddys Laboratories, Hyderabad, India. He has also served IPCA laboratories, Macleods Pharmaceuticals and Alkem laboratories, Mumbai, India in his capacity as a Scientist. He has over 11 years of experience in formulation and development of complex generics (ANDA), 505(b)(2) for the global market. He has successfully developed various drug products , using different approaches and various technologies which includes hot melt extrusion (HME), osmotic reservoir, gastroretentive drug delivery systems, nanotechnology, multiparticulate drug delivery systems and cyclodextrin complexation to name a few. He is an expert in materializing the design of experiments (DOE), quality by design (QBD) and in the development of the strategies for biowaiver during the development of formulations.
Dr. Devendra Ridhurkar obtained his M.Pharm and Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics from Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He has published over 8 peer-reviewed papers in reputed international and national journals and 5 patents to his credit. He has been associated with various pharmaceutical bodies in India and abroad namely Indian Pharmaceutical Graduate Association (IPGA) and American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS). He has attended and presented his research work at various national and international conferences.
