Nicholas Caruccio is the Director of Product Development for Epicentre - An Illumina company, which is focused on developing novel technologies to support genomics and proteomics.
Previously, he was the Director of Market Development for EPICENTRE Biotechnologies where he focused on the development and uptake Nextera technology for sequencing library preparation. He has also had varying scientific, management and marketing roles at Primorigen, Invitrogen, and Promega.
He received his PhD from UW-Madison and has broad training in molecular biology, biochemistry, and developmental biology.

A comparison of libraries made by enzymatic or mechanical fragmentation reveals a slightly greater insertion bias, though this has little practical impact on genomic coverage, GC bias, and library complexity based on high-coverage sequencing of human, insect, and bacterial genomes.
