Bill McLamb, Payload Systems Lead, Sierra Space

Bill is responsible for all payload services Sierra Space offers to customers in the Destinations Commercial LEO ecosystem, bridging the gap between technical and business teams and considerations and ensuring that Space Destinations products are responsive to demands of the customers, markets and business objectives. Bill was previously the Director of Payload Project Management, In-Space Solutions for Axiom Space, leading a team to execute a portfolio of projects for clients and partners for the International Space Station (ISS) and Axiom Station. Bill was also Director of Science and Technology Management and Program Scientist / Payload Manager for Space Tango, with overall accountability for management of flight program and project management through all phases of spaceflight project lifecycle. As the Operations Project Manager for the ISS U.S. National Laboratory, Bill provided project management oversight to support the definition, development and implementation of spaceflight payloads to ISS, including primary responsibilities on projects for the NIH/NCATS Chips in Space and the NSF/CASIS Tissue Engineering and Mechanobiology in Space Programs. Bill has spent over 25 years in various roles working with multidisciplinary teams that integrate science and engineering disciplines for spaceflight and terrestrial applications. He received his BS in Biological Sciences, MS in Cell & Molecular Biology, and PhD in Biological Sciences from Florida Institute of Technology.
