Yuejun Kang's Biography

Yuejun Kang, Assistant Professor of Bioengineering, Nanyang Technological University

Dr. Yuejun Kang has been an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at Nanyang Technological University since 2011. Dr. Kang received a B. E. degree (2000) from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and Ph. D. degree (2008) from Vanderbilt University, both in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Kang was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Monash University (Melbourne, Australia) from 2008 to 2009 and in the Bioscience Division at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (New Mexico, USA) from 2010 to 2011. Dr. Kang’s current research focuses on microfabrication technology and lab-on-a-chip devices for biosensing, cell-material interfaces, mechanobiology, stem cell-based on-chip tissue engineering, drug delivery nanosystems, and wearable therapeutic microdevices. Dr. Kang is a recipient of the China Thousand Talents Plan for Young Professionals Award (2015). His research team has also been honored with Gold, Silver and Bronze Prizes at the Singapore Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Scientific Meetings, Outstanding Poster Award at the 2014 Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society Asian-Pacific Annual Conference (TERMIS-AP 2014), CHEMINAS Best Poster Award at the 6th International Symposium on Microchemistry and Microsystems, JALAS International Award at the 61st Annual Meeting of Japanese Association for Laboratory Animal Science. Dr. Kang's research group is currently supported by the Ministry of Education of Singapore.
