Katsuo Mogi's Biography



Katsuo Mogi, Assistant professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology (Titech)

Katsuo Mogi is an assistant professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Titech).
His current research interests include nano/micro fluidic electrochemical system for single-cell handling. He is also developing a concentration system for detection of bio-substances including exosome.

He gained his PhD in 2010 from the University of Tokyo. For his doctoral degree, he invented a caliper-vernier structure based on microfluidic device for precise sorting of microorganisms.

Prior to joining the Titech, he has developed a real-time visualization system for mass transfer in glycocalyx layer of an endothelial cell as a post-doctoral research under Dr Sugii within the University of Tokyo.
He has also worked for designing and developing of storage system within the HITACH, Ltd.
