Characterization of a Novel Moonlighting Histone H3 Specific Protease Activity by a Known NAD+ Dependent Dehydrogenase From Chicken LiverTuesday, 30 October 2012 at 16:00 Add to Calendar ▼2012-10-30 16:00:002012-10-30 17:00:00Europe/LondonCharacterization of a Novel Moonlighting Histone H3 Specific Protease Activity by a Known NAD+ Dependent Dehydrogenase From Chicken LiverSELECTBIOenquiries@selectbiosciences.com Site-specific proteolysis of the N or C-terminus of histone tails has recently emerged as a novel form of irreversible post-translational modifications assigned to histones. In the present study liver specific proteolysis of histone H3 in adult chicken liver tissue is demonstrated. The proteolysis removes 23 amino acids from the N-terminus of histone H3. We further demonstrate a histone H3 specific protease (H3ase) activity in the chicken liver nuclear extract. H3ase was purified to homogeneity |
