Loïc J. Blum received the Doctorat de spécialité (1983) in Biochemistry and the Doctorat d’Etat ès Sciences (1991) from Lyon 1 University. He is presently full Professor of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the same university and is involved in the development biosensors, bioanalytical micro and nano systems, biochips and biomimetic membranes. He is the head of the "Institute for Molecular and Supramolecular Chemistry and Biochemistry". Since 1983, he published ca. 160 peer-reviewed papers and about 50 book chapters, hold several patents. He has co-edited Biosensor Principles and Applications, Marcel Dekker,1991) and is the author of Bio- and Chemi-Luminescent Sensors (World Scientific, 1997). He is also Member of the Editorial Board of Analytical Letters, Sensors and Editor of Biosensors & Bioelectronics.
