Phil Jones,

Phil received his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Manchester and then studied at Imperial College with Professor S V Ley. From 1986 he spent 15 years at Roche Discovery Welwyn. In 2001, Phil joined Organon and in 2003 became Executive Director with responsibility for the chemistry group at Newhouse, Scotland which became part of Schering-Plough Research Institute in 2007 and MSD in 2009. In 2010 and 2011 Phil was acting site head of the Newhouse facility. Following the closure of the site Phil became an independent consultant before taking up the position of Director of the European Screening Centre Newhouse in early 2013. He is the Chairman of the RSC BMCS committee and a member of the executive committee of the EFMC. Phil was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2005 and is an author on over 50 scientific papers and patents.
