Jean-Louis Reymond,
Professor,
The University of Bern
Jean-Louis Reymond is Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the University of Berne, Switzerland. He studied chemistry and biochemistry at the ETH Zürich and obtained his Ph.D. in 1989 at the University of Lausanne in the area of natural products synthesis. He then joined the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA, as a post-doc and then Assistant Professor, and returned to Switzerland in 1997 to join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Berne. His current research focuses on the exploration of chemical space for drug discovery exploiting the structural diversity of small organic molecules (enumerated as a public database at www.gdb.unibe.ch) as well as dendritic, cyclic and polycyclic peptides and glycopeptides.
