Dr Manjeet Mehta is a Medical Geneticist of National repute, with experience of more than 30 years. After completing PhD from Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai, she has taken advanced training from the Genetic Research Centre at Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Tata Memorial Hospital. And has done two posts internationally – in Toronto, Canada and in London, UK. She has been Head of Department at Dr Lal PathLabs, Metropolis, Kokilaben Ambani Hospital and iGenetic Diagnostics. Dr Mehta has done extensive work on Whole Genome studies as the Head of Clinical Diagnostics at Global Gene Corp, She has recently been trained in whole genome methods at the Center for Genome Analysis, Yale. Her areas of interest are: Indian Specific Variations in Human Genome, Genes & Disease Association, Pharmacogenomics, and Fetal Origin of Adult Disease. She is Executive Committee Member of several associations, on the editorial board for many journals, and an invited speaker at medical conferences in India & abroad. Genetics is one such area of Medicine that we are all curious about. It has been advancing rapidly recently. Today she will share some insights in to the same.
