Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI-BB
Dr. Harald Peter is a research scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology, Branch Bioanalytics and Bioprocesses (Fraunhofer IZI-BB) in Potsdam, Germany. After studying Technical Biology at the University of Stuttgart he received his PhD in 2009 for his work in the field of biosensors and genotyping DNA microarrays. He then moved on to a postdoctoral position at the University of Edinburgh in the Biochip Research group of PD Dr. Till Bachmann, working on the development of novel diagnostic assays in several research projects and industry collaborations. Among other fields he gained many years of experience in the development of diagnostic microarrays, especially for antibiotic resistance detection (ESBL, MRSA, KPC, …) and bacterial species identification. In 2012 he joined the Fraunhofer IZI-BB (former IBMT) and is now a member of the Division for Biosystemsintegration and Automatization of Prof. Dr. Frank Bier. Among other tasks, he is responsible for the assay development and integration into the Fraunhofer ivD-Platform, a novel Point-of-Care system.
