Originally from the UK, John completed his PhD in molecular biology in Vienna in 2001 after which he spent a further 6 years in Austria undertaking fundamental research with viral vectors and bionanotechnology with a focus on cancer applications.
Currently he is Chief Operating Officer at Austrianova Singapore Pte Ltd, a biomedical platform technology company based at Biopolis.
John is also co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the life-science start-up Anovasia Pte Ltd and a committee member for the Singapore Stem Cell Society.
From 2011 to 2014 he was active council member for the bio-industry alliance organisation BioSingapore. John has co-authored 18 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, has co-edited two books and is inventor on 5 patents and patent applications.
