Eric Gottwald's Biography



Eric Gottwald, Principal Investigator, Karlsruher Institute for Technology

Eric Gottwald studied Biology at the University of Cologne. For a post-doctoral position he joined the Institute of Toxicology of the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbH. In 2000 he became group leader of the group 3D-culture systems at the Institute of Medical Engineering and Biophysics of the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbH. In 2008 he became Managing Director of the Institute of Biological Interfaces-1 at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). His research interests are the development of chip-based cell culture techniques with a focus on stem cell niches.
