Lihua Wang's Biography

Lihua Wang, Senior Scientist, Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research

Dr. Lihua Wang is a Senior Scientist of Laboratory of Toxicology and Pharmacology at SAIC-Frederick, Inc, National Cancer Institute. She received her Medical Degree in 1985 and PhD in Biochemistry in 1995. She has demonstrated a new paradigm in reversing of tamoxifen resistance by blocking estrogen receptor functions in breast cancer.  Her research is currently focusing on pharmacodynamics of targeted anti-cancer therapeutics by using circulating tumor cells (CTCs)-based strategies for assessment of drug-induced mechanistic biomarkers. She also instructed CTC-based assays courses at NIH and Cambridge Healthtech Institute. She has published over 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Nature Medicine, Cancer Cell, and Immunity.
