Bogdan Iorga's Biography

Bogdan Iorga, Team Leader, Centre National De La Recherche Scientifique

Dr. Bogdan I. Iorga is the head of the Molecular Modelling and Structural Crystallography team at the Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles (CNRS, Gif-sur-Yvette, France), member of the Laboratory of Excellence in Research on Medication and Innovative Therapeutics (LERMIT). He received a M.Sc. (1997) and a Ph.D. (2001) in Chemistry from the Ecole Polytechnique (Palaiseau, France). In 2003, he joined the CNRS as a permanent researcher, working on total synthesis and molecular modeling in the area of neurotransmitter receptors. Dr. Iorga’s current scientific interests include drug design and development of new methodologies in molecular modeling. He co-authored a book (CRC Press, 2003), presenting the state of the art in phosphonate chemistry, and several book chapters.
