Jordi Quintana's Biography

Jordi Quintana, Director of Business Development and Innovation, Parc Cientific De Barcelona

Dr. Jordi Quintana studied Chemistry at Institut Químic de Sarrià (IQS) in Barcelona (1984), and holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) (1991). He has worked in R&D in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries for more than 15 years, and is currently Director, Business Development and Innovation and Head of the Drug Discovery Platform at Parc Científic de Barcelona (Barcelona Science Park), which he joined in 2007.

A platform for Drug Discovery for Rare Diseases, Drugs4Rare, has been developed, gathering information on chemical structures, biological targets, and orphan diseases; identifying potential protein targets for compounds by in silico target profiling; and validating experimentally the predicted chemico-biological interactions.
