Lee Walmsley's Biography

Lee Walmsley, Senior Team Leader, Vernalis Ltd

Lee trained at the University of Manchester before joining Roche Discovery Welwyn in 1992. At Roche he worked on projects targeting a range of proteins with implications in anti-inflammatory and anti-viral therapeutic areas. In 2001 he joined RiboTargets in Cambridge which became Vernalis in a merger with Vernalis Plc. Since joining the team in Cambridge he has focused on the application of fragment based lead discovery technologies. Project leader in kinases since 2003 he has been heavily involved in the integration of structure, modelling and synthesis into rational drug design.
