Dirk Haussecker,
Consultant,
RNAi Therapeutics Consulting
Dirk Haussecker studied molecular biology at the University of Edinburgh with a focus on RNA processing and plant RNAi (2000-2). For his doctoral studies at Oxford University (2002-5), he subsequently investigated the relationship between noncoding transcription in the beta globin gene cluster and RNAi-related epigenetic chromatin regulation. During his post-doctoral studies at Stanford University (2005-2009), he discovered, characterized and explored the therapeutic potential of 2 classes of small RNAs (tRNA-derived small RNAs and capped small RNAs). Due to his long-standing interest in the financial markets, he has been analyzing the maturation of and consulting for the RNAi Therapeutics industry which today is his main occupation.
