Nicole Francis,
Associate Professor,
Harvard University
Dr. Francis received her PhD in Neuroscience in 2000 from Case Western Reserve University where she worked on growth factors in the developing sympathetic nervous system with Dr. Story Landis, and on regulation of expression of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors with Dr. Evan Deneris. She carried out post-doctoral research with Dr. Robert Kingston at Massachusetts General Hospital in the Department of Molecular Biology where she studied the biochemistry of Polycomb Group protein complexes. Dr. Francis is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University, where she has been since 2004. The Francis lab is interested in biochemical mechanisms of epigenetic inheritance and uses Drosophila Polycomb proteins as a model system.
