Ferenc Darvas, Chairman, Flow Chemistry Society

Dr Ferenc Darvas graduated as chemical engineer, acquired a degree in computer sciences and in patent law, received his Ph.D. in experimental biology.

Published over 130 peer-reviewed papers, five books, has over 40 granted patents, taught at universities in the USA, Hungary, Austria and Spain, and was the first to use logic-based artificial intelligence approaches for designing new drugs.

Chairman and founder of the Flow Chemistry Society, Associate editor of the Journal of Flow Chemistry. Founder of the largest privately owned high-tech R&D network in Hungary, with member corporations in the UK, Ireland, USA, focused mainly to drug discovery and development using microfluidics/flow chemistry, nanotechnology.

Dr Ferenc Darvas was awarded with the Research Prize of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1978), the Prominent Entrepreneur prize of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce in New York (1995) the Dienes Gabor prize for outstanding innovations (2001) and the Order of the Hungarian Republic, Officer’s Cross, Civil Section in 2010.
