Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stephan Scholl studied Process Engineering at the Technical University Munich. He graduated in1985 and received his Dr.-Ing. degree in 1991 also from TU Munich. His doctoral thesis was on the Sorption Kinetics of Physically Adsorbed Species in Solid Adsorbents. From 1991 to 2002 he worked for BASF AG, Ludwigshafen. Serving in different positions he was team leader for Distillation and Heat Transfer, logistics manager for investment projects and finally Group Leader in BASF´s Engineering R&D division. In 2002 he moved to Technische Universität Braunschweig as Professor for Chemical and Thermal Process Engineering and head of the respective institute. His main research areas are Sustainable Manufacturing Concepts, Innovative Equipment and Plant Technologies, Fouling and Cleaning as well as Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Processes.
