Kirsten Zeitler,

Kirsten Zeitler studied chemistry in Munich and received her Ph.D. from the Ludwig- Maximilians Universität München under the guidance of Prof. Wolfgang Steglich in 2001. As a fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) she joined the group of Prof. Gary A. Molander at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia for postdoctoral studies. After being awarded a Liebig fellowship of the Fonds der Chemischen Industrie, she started her independent career as a junior research group leader at of the University of Regensburg in the summer of 2004 where she was awarded with the Thieme Journal Award (2005) and the Award of the Otto-Röhm-Memorial Foundation (2008). 2011 she received her habilitation and in summer 2012 she accepted a position at the University of Leipzig, where she currently holds a Professorship for Catalysis and Organic Synthesis. The research interests of her group focus on organocatalysis as well as visible-light photocatalysis and the development of new synthetic methodology including the application of enabling technologies such as micro- and meso flow systems.
