Hatim Husain's Biography

Hatim Husain, Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of California San Diego

I am a lung cancer medical oncologist pursuing a translational career in cancer therapeutic strategies in solid tumor malignancies. My passion is be involved in early drug development and my goal is to develop a translational laboratory for biomarker validation and drug testing in in vitro and in in vivo models that can form the basis for early phase clinical trials. I work very closely to characterize technology development in the circulating tumor DNA space and applications about its utility. Recent work has also involved in understanding mechanisms of resistance to anti-EGFR directed therapies and further understanding the mechanisms of immunogenic cell death in cancer cells.
