Hideaki Hisamoto's Biography



Hideaki Hisamoto, Professor, Osaka Prefecture University

Hideaki Hisamoto is a professor of Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka Prefecture University (Japan). He received Ph.D from Keio University under the guidance of Prof. Koji Suzuki in 1996. He stayed Keio University as a research associate. In 1999, he moved to the University of Tokyo as a lecturer. He joined Prof. Takehiko Kitamori’s group and worked for the development of microscale analytical and synthetic systems using microfabricated devices. In 2003, he promoted to an associate professor of Himeji Institute of Technology (currently University of Hyogo) and joined Prof. Shigeru Terabe’s group and Prof. Fumio Mizutani's group. In 2007 He moved to Osaka Prefecture University as an associate professor and joined Prof. Toshio Yao's group. In April 2010, he promoted to full professor. He published 77 original papers, 33 reviews, 12 book chapters, and total citation is now 2604 (h-index: 31, May 2013). His research interests lie in the development and application of novel analytical methods based on molecular recognition chemistry, chemical sensors, microfluidic devices, and capillary electrophoresis.

Capillary-array microanalytical devices capable of mass-production and multiple chemical sensing of different chemical species were developed. Development of various capillary-based sensors, array devices, and some applications including serum component analysis or inhibitor assay will be presented.
