Xavier Muñoz's Biography

Xavier Muñoz, Senior Researcher, Microelectronics Institute of Barcelona (IMB-CNM)

Xavier Munoz-Berbel received the B.S. degree in chemistry (2001) and biochemistry (2003) and Ph.D. degree in biotechnology (2008) from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. From 2008 to 2010, he followed the postdoctoral formation in France (University of Perpignan), UK (University of Bath) and Spain (University of Seville). He joined the Grupo de Transductores Químicos (GTQ) at the Institut de Microelectrònica de Barcelona (IMB-CNM, CSIC) in 2010 as young researcher and in 2011 he was awarded with a Ramón y Cajal tenure-track fellow. He is co-author of more than 30 articles in peer-review journals and more than 30 contributions to international journals. He is involved in the development of opto-fluidic and opto-mechanical systems for application to biological sciences.
