Mark Olde Riekerink's Biography


Mark Olde Riekerink, Senior Business Development Manager, Micronit Microtechnologies BV

As Micronit’s Sr Business Development Manager in the field of Life Science Research, Mark Olde Riekerink focuses on the development of lab-on-a-chip devices in application areas like genomics and single-cell analysis. In 2007, he started working for Micronit as an R&D Project Manager. As of 2001, Mark had been working at Philips Corporate R&D (Applied Technologies, Eindhoven) in several semiconductor and healthcare related projects. Mark received his Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry and Biomaterials Research at the University of Twente (Enschede, The Netherlands) in 2001.

Micronit is developing a new type of fluidic connection, in addition to its currently standardized Fluidic Connect Pro platform. The SideConnect technology simplifies the microfluidic chip/cartridge design and thus reduces product costs. With no access holes in the top layer, this technology can be implemented either in a 2D (in-plane) or a 3D (out-of-plane) configuration.
