Dr Raman Parkesh currently holds Principal Scientist position in Institute of Microbial Technology, (IMTECH), a premier CSIR institute. He obtained his BSc MSc from the University of Jammu. He completed PhD from Trinity College, Dublin and went to Oxford University and Scripps Research Institute for postdoctoral work. His current research interest includes computational medicinal chemistry, chemoinformatics, epigenetics, RNA drug discovery, supramolecular chemistry, fluorescent chemosensors for biologically important ions, solid-phase peptoid and peptide synthesis, and development of small molecules probes for various infectious and neurodegenerative diseases. Raman has published about 45 papers in high impact journals such as Nature Chemical Biology, Journal of Anatomy, JACS, ACS chemical Biology, Nucleic Acid Research, 3 book chapters and one patent and has won various fellowship and awards such as Oxford University Merit Award, CSIR quick hire fellowship, Trinity College Postgraduate Award, National Science Talent Promotion and CSIR-UGC net fellowship.
