Om Katare, Professor, Panjab University

Dr. O. P. Katare is currently Professor of the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences - UGC Centre of Advanced Study at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Prof. Katare, has an excellent academic profile to his credit. In his more than 25 years of distinguished services he handled diversified responsibilities, covering both academia and industries. It includes prestigious Pharmaceutical Industries like May & Baker, Franco-India Group of companies.
A drug delivery scientist par excellence, Professor Katare is recognized globally as an accomplished dignitary in the sphere of Phospholipid-Structured Systems. With more than 60 International and National research publications in various prestigious peer-reviewed journals, 04 Book Chapters along with 03 International patents and more than 40 invitational talks; Prof. Katare has contributed substantially towards the research and profession.
For a pioneering work, Prof. Katare has received unique distinction by accomplishing three tech-transfers to Pharmaceutical Industry from his liposomal research laboratory. This fetched him an unprecedented recognition in the field of pharmacy by then President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam in 2007 by being conferred DBT Technology National Award. Besides this, Best Patent Award 2012 by IABMS Society, OPPI Scientist Award 2011 by the consortium of Multinational Pharma-industries, Person of the Year 2006 by Times of India, two time felicitation by the Panjab University Syndicate, Illustrious Alumni Award by Dr. H. S. Gaur Vishwa Vidyalaya, Sagar, Dr. R. K. Upadhyaya National Teacher Excellence Award by IES group of Institutions, Bhopal and Rashtriya Gaurav Award are some of the significant additions.
