Bhupinder Singh Bhoop
Dean, UIPS, Panjab University

Acclaimed globally for his QbD-based development of novel and nanostructured drug delivery, advanced pharmacokinetic modelling and IVIVC, Professor Bhupinder Singh Bhoop has contributed over three decades of dedicated service towards Pharmaceutical Education and Research. He has to his credit over 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals including 15 books and 52 book chapters. A widely travelled scientist, he has delivered more than 280 plenary, keynote and invited talks in India and overseas. He has been conferred with numerous global and national awards. Over a thousand of industrial scientists from leading pharma companies of India, of the likes of Mylan, Zydus, Ranbaxy, Cipla, Cadila Pharma, Sentiss, Sun Pharma, IPCA, Glenmark, Sanofi-Aventis, Ajanta, Alkem, Bharat Serums, Panacea Biotec and Beximco Pharma (Dhaka) have been duly trained by him on QbD and Biowaivers. He has has guided/guiding 31 doctoral, 54 postgraduate, and 6 post-doctoral research projects, completed 6 industrial consultancy assignments, has 5 patents, and is involved in tech. transfer of two nano-based drug delivery products.
His work has fetched Prof Bhoop with numerous awards & accolades like, Leading Educators of World (UK) 2007, Pharma Buzz Pharma Personality Award 2008, Shiksha Rattan Puruskar 2008, Innovative Scientist Award 2012 (CIIPP), QbD & Product Performance Award 2012 & 2013 (AAPS, USA), QbD Excellence Award 2013 (CPhI Asia), Outstanding Scientist Award 2014 (SelectBio, UK), QbD Product Performance Award 2014 (Stat-Ease, USA), APTI Best Pharmacy Teacher Award 2014, Prof M.R. Baichwal Oration Award 2015 (ICT, Mumbai), Scientist Par Excellence Award 2015 (Minitab Inc, UK), Eudragit Award 2015 (Evonik Industries, Germany), Jaswant Singh Gill Memorial Lectureship Award 2015 (GNDU, Amritsar), HT Performer of 2015, Innovative Healthcare Researcher Award 2016 (WWA?),” Name in Science” Award (EBA, Oxford UK) 2016, and many more.
Professor Bhoop is currently the Founder-Coordinator of UGC Centre for Excellence in Nano Biomedical Applications (2011-) and Coordinator of UGC Centre of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, at Panjab University. He has also been Chairman, University Institute of Pharma Sciences (2014-17); Fellow & Member, University Senate & Syndicate (2012-16); Dean, Faculty of Pharm Sciences (2012-14); and Dean Alumni Relations (2007-11). On the basis of his exemplary accomplishments, Mr Hamid Ansari, Vice President of India, nominated Professor Bhoop to Panjab University Senate as its Fellow, and Prof Ved Prakash, Chairman-UGC, conferred upon him Honorary Fellowship of Punjab Academy of Sciences.

Kailash Gupta
Director, Indian Institute of Toxicology Research

Dr. K.C. Gupta, presently the Director of Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), Lucknow was earlier acting Director of Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), New Delhi. Dr. Gupta was a recipient of prestigious DAAD Fellowship (Germany, 1982-1984), CSIR-DAAD Exchange Fellowship (1991-1992), Indo-German Exchange Fellowship (2005) Indo-French Exchange Fellowship (1996), Indo-Israel Exchange Fellowship (1998), Indo-Japan Exchange Fellowship (2009-2010) and is a Fellow of National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad. He is a widely traveled scientist and was Visiting Scientist/Professor at several universities/institutes such as University of Marseilly and Paris, France; University of Kiel and Ulm, Germany; Bar-Han University, Israel and RIEKEN, Japan.

Dr. Gupta’s areas of specialization are "bio-organic chemistry, nucleic acid synthesis & design". His current area of research relates to development of nano-particle aided transfection reagents for delivery of genes and their toxicity assessment and development of biochips as diagnostic tools for detection of genetic diseases.

He has published more than 100 research papers in internationally reputed peer reviewed journals and contributed to 10 invited reviews and book chapters. The impact of Dr. Gupta’s work can be judged by >800 citations and he has to his credit 17 patents granted nationally and internationally with successful transfer of 02 technologies to Industries. Dr. Gupta is the member of editorial board of 02 international journals and is serving as Chairman/Member of a number of national and international scientific committees. He has guided 14 students for their Ph.D. programme and an equal number are pursuing their doctoral programme under his guidance.

Gopal Khuller
Emeritus Professor, PGIMER

Prof. G. K. Khuller, Former Head, Department of Biochemistry, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India is presently working as Emeritus Professor at the same institute. Dr. Khuller’s research interests include development of nanotechnology based sustained release drug delivery systems for antitubercular and other drugs, biochemical and immunochemical studies of mycobacteria; regulation of lipid metabolism by second messengers, biochemical mechanism of drug resistance, and identification of new drug targets for antimycobacterial drugs. His work in the area of Mycobacteriology is well recognized nationally and internationally. On recognition of his work he has been bestowed with several awards like the Young scientist award of ICMR in 1983, Dr.S.Gopalakrishnan Oration of ACBI in 1996, Seth, G.S.Medical College Oration of ACBI in 1997, Fellow of ACBI in 1998 and Dr.G.P.Talwar Oration of ACBI in 2004. He has published about 300 research papers in the journals of national and international repute and written several chapters in leading Scientific Books. He is also fellow of several scientific societies. Fifty-six students have successfully completed Ph.D. thesis under his guidance. He is a member of Indian Delegation for Nano-initiative research program of DST between India, Brazil & South Africa (IBSA).
